a charmed stay

i adored the shepherds hut. it felt very private and peaceful. the log burner added a cosy touch, and the outdoor bath was perfect for evening relaxation by the river. we found the grounds beautifully maintained, inviting peaceful walks.
The pricing of drinks seemed rather inconsistent. this felt somewhat unfair given other bar prices.

we stayed in the oaks residence to celebrate my wife's birthday, it was super. the house has two living rooms, a sauna, a hot tub, four ensuite bedrooms, and a large kitchen. helen welcomed us and explained how the hot tub and sauna work, that was a nice touch. a mini bus was always available to take us to the spa and main reception.
the gillies food was ok, it had inflated prices. everything we looked at to eat or drink was very expensive. i think it is overpriced.

empty minibarfaulty remote
the minibar in the "one bedroom cottage" was empty upon arrival. i expected it to be stocked, especially considering the price. the television remote also didn't work. I had to call maintenance to get it replaced. this took nearly an hour, and it was quite irritating (i wanted to watch a movie, darn it!).
