The Balmoral is an iconic and architecturally beautiful hotel ideally situated on Princes Street, making it easy to walk to Edinburgh Castle and other central attractions. Many guests appreciate the spacious rooms and comfortable beds. While some found one of the lifts being out of service caused delays, the hotel's location and grand appearance are recurring highlights. The Glamis Suite, connecting to other bedrooms, is often mentioned as particularly stunning, and the workout facilities and large indoor pool are also popular.

Superb hotel experience

nice amenities safe box prompt room service friendly welcome
My room had nice amenities. I found a safe for valuables. The hairdryer worked VERY well. I used the ironing board and iron. They were ready for use. The room service was prompt. I ordered dessert one evening. It came on a dessert trolley, a nice touch. The welcome at reception was friendly. ALL staff wished me a happy birthday. They remembered it.
The extraction in the toilet was a little lacking. I noticed a slight smell upon arrival.
