Review summary
Based on recent reviews
Powered by AI
The Grand Brighton is often praised for its prime location across from the beach and within walking distance of the main shopping area and the pier. Guests find the rooms spacious and comfortable, sometimes noting welcoming music and Nespresso machines. While some have mentioned worn spots or stains on the carpet in certain areas, the hotel's grand architecture and convenient access to the boulevard make it a popular choice, especially when considering the reasonable prices available in January.

mixed feelings about the stay

valet parkingbathrobe absencesmall toiletries
the valet parking at the front of the hotel worked well, especially since it was raining.
i found the lack of bathrobes quite disappointing. the small amount of toiletries and single biscuit felt stingy (i definitely expected more). it just did not feel like a proper five-star experience.

Decent experience overall

The staff were very polite and helpful. It was great to leave our bags in their safekeeping for four hours after checking out. The breakfast was lovely (especially the croissants!).
I found that the windows in my room could not be opened. The room and bathroom were too hot and stuffy. Having to rely solely on ac is not very comfortable for breathing clearly.

Charming Stay!!!

attentive staffroom upgradebest tableguest relations
The staff was attentive, and my room was upgraded. I got pink champagne at my wedding meal and the best table in the restaurant overlooking the beach. Complimentary Buck's Fizz was available at breakfast with the best seats in the restaurant. It was all AMAZING!!! Sandra Flanagan, head of guest relations, arranged it all, and Mauro Cerone, head restaurant manager, was our witness.
The floor was a bit noisy due to some generator. I could hear it through the windows. This disturbed my sleep a little and the fire alarm was flashing.
Dining

The breakfast buffet had all anyone could ask for. It also featured an omelette station. The fine dining experience was great with very attentive staff and definitely worth every penny. Cyan restaurant has a wonderful meal.

My room was fine, large, and spacious with beautiful sea views. I liked the seating area that allowed me to enjoy the view. The bathroom was beautiful and there was a huge, comfortable bed.

generally acceptable stay

high quality beddingcomfortable mattressfantastic locationworn spotsstained carpetunclean bathroom
The bedding felt high quality, i appreciated the comfortable mattress. medium firmness pillows allowed using two without discomfort (which is not often the case). the location was fantastic. It was directly opposite the beach. a variety of amenities were around the hotel, i could reach them by walking.
I noticed the hotel seemed somewhat worn in places. there were worn spots on the carpet on several floors. They had been covered with tape. my superior room had large stains on the carpet. The windows were not clean. i found hairs in the bathroom upon arrival. They remained in the same spot the next day (it didn't seem to be thoroughly cleaned).

Lovely Refurbished Rooms

modern bathroomcomfy bed
The guest rooms have been refurbished. They are now light, airy, and feature modern bathrooms. The beds are comfy! I am also glad the windows in the room can still be opened, which adds a nice touch for fresh air. I had dinner in the onsite restaurant. The service and food quality were very good.
Dining

The self-service buffet breakfast was good, and the dining room is large, so queuing is minimal. The breakfast choices are pretty good and diverse, providing an excellent start to the day. I enjoyed all the options available.
