Excellent Stay with Nice Service

friendly staffattractive groundsvaried menuintermittent water
I recently spent several nights here. Staff were naturally friendly and efficient (I did enjoy their attitude). The grounds are quite attractive. The restaurant offers a varied menu, and my evening meal was well served. The red wine selection was surprisingly decent.
The hot water in the shower was somewhat intermittent. The water was only lukewarm. I suggest checking if any events are scheduled during your stay.
Service
9/10
The reception team showed warmth with efficiency at all times. The breakfast team offered great attention to detail and excellent breakfast choices, some were freshly prepared by the chef (I was really surprised).
Facilities

The hotel offers a playground outside and a play area inside. The pool access was a great addition to my stay. There is also an EV charger, a must for some guests traveling from Scotland.
Location

The hotel boasts a beautiful setting with fine views. The location provided easy access to nearby attractions. The premises provide convenient proximity to Beamish, a great experience after a lovely pool.

the staff were friendly and helpful.
The room felt dark with very dark furniture and small space. Also there weren't hooks on the door or surface area in the bathroom. i expected 'boutique' to be a byword for luxury, but it wasn't.
