the hotel featured beautiful buildings and landscapes and had an english atmosphere. our dog was able to join us for a leisure weekend. our teenage daughter enjoyed having her own bedroom in the suite.

i observed dusty glass light fittings. the old carpets seemed loose, posing a tripping hazard. some carpets were patched with parcel tape, giving it an unsightly look.

The grounds were beautiful and very well kept. I had a room overlooking the lovely garden. The view was quite relaxing. The spa facilities were fantastic, with a good range of treatments and a tranquil atmosphere. Breakfast offered many options, with a good selection of fresh pastries and fruit.

The bathroom sink drained slowly, it was slightly inconvenient.

The gardens are really beautiful. The breakfast had so many choices and the food tasted yummy. The building looks grand, it's full of character and the bedrooms are large, its wonderful!

The spa looks a bit tired. I saw tiles off and basic containers for the shower gel. I expected fancy Elemis products.

The younger suite was worth the climb because of the great view (we enjoyed waking up to it). I have stayed in other hotels in this area but I came back to this hotel. I appreciated the complimentary drink and the helpful reception staff. The breakfast food was good, with a nice variety of choices.

The bar drinks were expensive. This could be improved. I suggest checking prices beforehand to avoid surprises.
