the staff was friendly and helpful , i must admit.
the room i had was a bit cramped and felt quite dated. it was right next to a staircase , so i heard noise until late at night. i wish they had put me in a quieter room to begin with.

Charmed by the Spa and Service!

four poster bedroomwelcome receptiongenerous parkingtoilet cistern
I received a pleasant surprise with an upgrade to the four poster bedroom. This pretty room had two windows overlooking the traditional buildings and streets. I found the free parking to be generous and welcome, especially as I wanted quick access to nearby facilities. I must also mention the warm welcome I received from the attentive reception staff, who were very helpful.
I must mention that the toilet cistern ran constantly and I had to fiddle with it to silence it. I found a few long hairs on the bed, which I had to remove. A small shelf in the shower for gel or shampoo would add practicality.
Rooms

My upgraded room featured two windows with views. The very comfortable bed ensured a restful stay. Nespresso pods and a machine were provided, allowing indulgent coffee at any time. This was really charming.
Service
10/10
The reception accommodated my very late check-in smoothly and efficiently. I wanted a late evening meal and glass of wine in my room in a relaxed environment. I highly recommend the Scottish salmon with champagne sauce. Beautiful and delicately balanced flavors.
Facilities
8/10
The spa facilities looked inviting. I didn't have time to use them on this visit. Free parking was available. I did not use it but this is a nice thing to know for the future.
Location
9/10
The hotel's location offers convenient access to the city centre. I also appreciated the quick and easy access to the hospital. The hotel's quiet location at the front of the original building added to the peacefulness.

superb spa experience

new facilitiesfriendly servicecreaky floorboards
The new spa facilities are excellent. I experienced them for the first time along with the oak restaurant. i purchased another deal from the black friday offers, securing further visits. the staff were good and always attentive, offering prompt and friendly service.
The room was dated. I could hear every movement of the person next door as the floorboards are creaky, disruptive. every movement in our room could also be heard from outside, and every door being shut echoed through the hallway.
Rooms
8/10
the room was super clean and cozy with daily service. it included standard amenities, but the decor felt somewhat old fashioned. a refresh would bring it up to the standard seen in other areas of the hotel.
Dining

The breakfast offered an excellent selection of food. the dining room staff was very helpful and attentive during dinner. the food tasted good and was well-prepared. The calm atmosphere enhanced dining experience.

The staff throughout the hotel were efficient and friendly. They ensured a smooth and cute experience. the reception area is bright and check-in was efficient. the lounge area offers a bright and inviting space for relaxation.
