the grounds was beautiful and i take a walk around it.

long wait empty glasses
i found the grounds fine, a real treat to walk around it.
the service was a real let down, i had to wait ages for someone to even acknowledge me when i wanted to order a drink and the staff just walked past me without clearin up my empty glasses, its not what i expect from a hotel like this.

The complimentary bikes let me cycle around the grounds freely. the room had a garden entrance and it smelled great with all the flowers. the pool was relaxing. I enjoyed the spa services too.

Magical Stay and Historical Immersion
private tour personal touch
A staff member (Chris) offered an unexpected private guided tour. He showed us rooms from the chapel to the war room and even where the Queen and Prince Philip stayed on their wedding night. This personal touch. I especially liked the amazing stories about the historical past of the hotel.
I noticed the attention to detail with service wasn't quite what I expected from a hotel of this calibre. I waited a long time to be offered a drink in the bar (it was quite late). The waitress looked a bit put out when I ordered a second drink. It felt quite rude.

The Mansion Beautiful Room included comfortable beds. The room was very clean. The rooms are beautiful, decorated with attention to detail, but some areas of the building showed signs of age.

The hotel grounds are breathtakingly beautiful. I appreciated the well-kept Victorian architecture. The grounds offer plenty of parking. The surrounding greenery enhances the peacefulness of the location.

Breakfast was great (especially the pancakes!). The staff in the restaurants were knowledgeable. The Werhner restaurant provided a fantastic tasting menu, and the flavors and textures were excellent.

extensive grounds friendly staff spacious room meal drinks refund issue buffet breakfast
the extensive grounds were perfect for walks. the staff were friendly (especially the waitress). the rooms were spacious and clean.
the drinks for the evening meal were not included in the deal. the restaurant could not issue a refund on the spot. hot buffet breakfast food was not appetising.
