The Grand Hotel offers many guests a brilliant location by the seafront, conveniently close to the train and bus services. Several rooms, such as room 210, provide lovely sea views, and the outdoor pool is a bonus for many, even though some find the changing rooms a little tired. The bar area is often mentioned as very comfortable and stylish, offering tasty gin and tonic. For those arriving by car, the garage parking is considered very useful.

I enjoyed the christmas decor. A wood fire burned in reception. the views overlooking torbay were fabulous. everything seemed in perfect order and the staff were friendly.
the hotel should review its safety exits as a rusty fire escape on the facade made me feel uneasy.

The absence of a mini-fridge in the room was frustrating (a minor detail, but inconvenient). I found myself wishing I could store some drinks and snacks. The shower curtain also clung annoyingly during showers. Its clinginess made showering less comfortable than it should have been.
