the reception team greeted me warmly , and the general manager also met guests . the team in the whisky lounge were helpful. the kind person in the car park was appreciated.
i found parking to be not ample upon arrival. the pub dinner was a bit disappointing , the food looked like it had sat under the lights too long. a souffle dessert seemed chewy.

my room was a superior king. it had ample space and pleasant décor. the hotel grounds feature many quiet seating areas. i enjoyed a drink on the patio accompanied by complimentary biscuits. there was a lovely pool available.
during dinner one evening, the food arrived less than hot. i found this disappointing considering the price. a little extra attention to temperature would have been appreciated.

Mixed feelings about THE stay

low pressurestale pastries
The shower had low water pressure. It was barely more than a trickle. i also found the breakfast service a bit slow. the pastries tasted stale, and getting a refill on coffee seemed to take an eternity. it was QUITE frustrating to start the day like that. i also noticed that the bathroom lacked sufficient ventilation, causing it to remain damp and musty for hours after showering.

The staff provided some nice additions to add to my wife's 75th birthday, which i appreciated. Breakfast was freshly cooked with very good ingredients, nothing was amiss. The acorn inn provided excellent service and food. The hotel is a short drive to local towns and interesting sites. The location was very convenient.
