Villa Blanca Cloud Forest Hotel & Retreat, San Ramon (Alajuela)

The food at Villa Blanca was a highlight of our stay. Breakfast was excellent with a variety of options featuring fresh, locally-sourced ingredients. I especially enjoyed the homemade yogurts and made-to-order eggs. Dinner also impressed me with its quality, although slightly on the pricier side compared to other places we visited. The use of organic produce from their own farm made each meal feel special.

During my stay, I was thrilled to explore the beautiful trails surrounding the hotel. The paths are well-maintained and provide access to serene walks through the cloud forest. I loved the morning birding activity where I saw various species up close. The peaceful garden and forest setting made it a perfect backdrop for relaxation and rejuvenation.

I stayed in one of the cozy casitas that offered a charming rustic experience. The room was equipped with a fireplace, which added warmth and ambiance during our evenings. I enjoyed the privacy as each casita is well-positioned to offer a tranquil escape amidst the lush surroundings. The attention to detail in the decor enhanced the overall appeal of the room.

One of the highlights was the variety of engaging activities offered at the hotel. I participated in a night walk where I encountered fascinating wildlife, such as a tarantula and various insects. The hotel even has its own research center that attracts unique species, making it a great experience for wildlife enthusiasts. The guides were knowledgeable and made each outing enjoyable.
